2025 Q4 in review: keyboard shortcuts

BRBruno Okafor1 min read

Keyboard access and screen-reader labels were part of the work, not a follow-up. We will fold the remaining cases in once we have seen this one hold. There is nothing to do on your side; the change is already in front of you.

How it works

The change is backwards compatible, so integrations built against the old shape carry on unchanged. The limit is generous enough that most teams will never meet it. It is slower on the first load and faster on every one after.

Step by step

It works the same way on the public site and inside the widget, with no configuration to turn on. Most teams will notice this first on the busiest screen they use.

  1. Enable duplicate detection.
  2. Enable vote weighting.
  3. Enable bulk actions.
  4. Enable a Chrome extension.

Limits

Existing setups keep working exactly as they did — nothing needs migrating. Rollout is complete on every plan, including the free tier. Large workspaces should see the biggest difference, since the old query grew with the number of items.

  1. Enable a Linear two-way sync.
  2. Enable Zapier triggers.
  3. Enable post templates.

Common pitfalls

This has been the most requested change on the board for a while, and it is now live for every workspace. Nothing about billing changes, on any plan.

  1. Enable role-based permissions.
  2. Enable attachment uploads.
  3. Enable custom fields.

Next steps

The old behaviour is still reachable for a release, behind a setting. Two long-standing reports close with this, and both are linked below. We rewrote this part rather than patching it, because the old approach ran out of room.
