Silently truncates long titles — reproduced on two machines.

Expected: the inbox keeps its state. Actual: it shows a stale vote count until a hard refresh.

Could this also cover the API case, or is that separate?

Not sure this is worth the complexity for how rarely it comes up. It would let us retire an internal tool nobody wants to maintain.
